This article is only to be used for resetting Honda S2000 maintenance reminder lights. Some Honda models (not all) may be equipped with one or more resettable maintenance reminder lights indicating maintenance is required. Once required maintenance services are performed, resetting of lights may be required. Information is provided to reset these lights where applicable.
Most Honda vehicles are equipped with a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) or check engine light. If light comes on and remains on while driving, the specific Honda vehicle requires some type of repair. See appropriate service and repair information. After repairing fault(s) and clearing fault code(s), the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) or check engine light should go out. Some Honda models may use a dual-function indicator light, which is also used to indicate emission component service is due. After performing required service, reset check engine light.
Honda S2000 2002-2005 Maintenance Light Reset Procedure
- When distance driven since maintenance required indicator was reset is 6000 miles, the maintenance required reminder light will start to blink when the ignition switch is turned to ON position. When mileage exceeds 7500 miles, the maintenance required reminder light will illuminate and stay on until it is reset.
- To reset the maintenance required reminder light on the S2000, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Press and hold the TRIP meter reset button. The TRIP meter reset button is in the lower right corner of the instrument cluster. While still holding button, turn ignition switch to ON position with engine off. Hold button for about 10 seconds until indicator resets and goes out.

I recently had an experienced speed shop install a K&N CAI in my ’06 Honda S2000. After a few days driving it, the check engine light came on. I took it back to the speed shop and they checked everything, they reset the light but it still came back on. I then took it to the dealer and they said it was the air pump. $1,000 later, the light still came back on. Now they said that they have to wait for Honda to tell them what the problem is. Of course, Honda told the dealer to change the ECU. The ECU was never an issue because the car drove fine way before I decided to put in a CAI. Anyway, I took the car back to the speed shop, told them to “take out” the CAI and put everything back to specs. Guess what? Check engine light came on AGAIN!!!
Can someone help me out with this problem. I bought the car to cruise around for the summer and summer is coming to an end because it’s my ride is still in the damn shop.
I would greatly appreciate any kind of assistance with this problem.
Thank you,
Richard

Sounds like the problem isn’t the cai. Its unfortunate even the honda service can’t figure It out. Id say google up some s2000 forums and ask around there. You may find people who had the same problem and had managed to solve it. Good luck.
