Honda S2000 Horn System

The horn system for Honda S2000 applies to 1999-2003 models.


HORN TEST/REPLACEMENT

  1. Remove the front bumper (S2000 ’00-04 models).
  2. Open the hood (S2000 ’02-04 models).
  3. Disconnect the 1P connector, and remove the horn.
  4. Test the horn by connecting battery power to the terminal and grounding to the bracket. See figure. The horn should sound.
  5. If it fails to sound, replace it.

HORN SWITCH TEST

1. Remove the steering column upper and lower cover.
2. Disconnect the dashboard wire harness B 4P connector from the cable reel.
3. Check for continuity between the cable reel No. 2 terminal and body ground in each switch position according to the table.

  • If there is continuity, the horn switch is OK
  • If there is no continuity, go to step 4

4. Remove the driver’s airbag.
5. Check for continuity between the cable reel No. 2 terminal and the horn switch positive terminal.

  • If there is no continuity, replace the cable reel and check for proper operation.
  • If there is continuity, replace the horn switch.
